For those driving to Carderock, be *WARY* of Google Maps directions to the base address (9500 MacArthur Blvd, West Bethesda, MD 20817), as it may take you to a permanently closed back gate on MacArthur Blvd. Instead, enter “NSWC Carderock Division” to find the front gate on Clara Barton Parkway (as shown on above map).

Visitor/Parking Directions

For those with DoD Common Access Cards (CACs): After driving through the first gate, the guard will need to check your badge. Once waved through, head up the hill for parking beyond Bldg 40. The Taylor Auditorium is on the first floor, to the right after entering from the front.

For those without a Common Access Card (CAC): Show another form of photo ID (license/passport) and tell the guard to check the list for your name. The event is “Future Platform Materials Working Group” You will be waved through and can proceed to parking. Head up the hill for parking beyond Bldg 40. The Taylor Auditorium is on the first floor, to the right after entering from the front.

If anyone is using a taxi or rideshare to get to/from base, they will have to drop you off at either the Main Gate Entrance or in the Visitor Center parking lot. Pick up can be completed at either location as well.
